An instrument full of character

Information

The Nicholson organ in the St. Christoforus Church of Schagen is now widely regarded as one of the finest Romantic organs in the Netherlands. The instrument was built in 1882 by English organ builder John Nicholson for St Mary Magdalene in Worcester. In 1981, it found a new home in Schagen.

Romantic organ repertoire — often difficult or even impossible to perform convincingly elsewhere — sounds exceptional on this instrument and in this space. The church, designed by Alfred Tepe in 1882, has cathedral-like acoustics with a reverberation time of approximately six seconds.
