SWEELINQ HELP CENTER

Using Sweelinq

What do I need to use Sweelinq?

You’ll need a computer or laptop that meets the specifications listed on the system requirements page. You’ll also need an organ or keyboard with a MIDI output.

To connect your organ to your computer or laptop, you’ll need a USB-MIDI cable or an external audio interface that has a MIDI input.

An example of a suitable USB-MIDI cable is the Roland UM One MK2. Another option is an external audio interface with MIDI input, such as the
Presonus AudioBox USB 96 25th Anniversary Edition 2×2 audio interface, which is a good entry-level option and comes with an ASIO driver.

If you’re considering building a surround system in the future, it’s best to choose an audio interface with multiple output channels. This allows you to send different sounds to speakers in front of and behind you. You can find suitable options on this page.

How do I connect a slider in Sweelinq to a physical swell pedal?

You can easily link a slider such as Volume, Swell, or Front/Rear to your organ’s swell pedal using MIDI Learn.

How it works:

  1. Right-click the slider you want to connect.
  2. Select Learn MIDI […].
  3. Slowly move the desired swell pedal fully up and down.
  4. Click OK.

After these steps, the swell pedal and the slider are linked, and the slider will respond directly to the movement of the pedal.

Can I split the layout of a sampleset across two screens?

When using multiple screens, you can easily split the disposition or layout of a sampleset across two screens. This can be configured per sampleset and per screen.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Load the desired sampleset.
  2. Click the icon in the top-right corner next to the record icon.
  3. Under the heading Screen layout, you will see the options Single, Left, and Right.

The options mean the following:

  • Single, shows the complete layout on one screen.
  • Left, shows the left part of the controls.
  • Right, shows the right part of the controls.

If you have two screens connected, select Left on the left screen and Right on the right screen. This way, the controls are logically distributed across both screens.

If you use more than one screen, you need to select the correct layout on each screen individually. This setting is saved per sampleset, allowing you to choose a custom layout for each organ.
